Tremendous 10th Anniversary Celebrations!
Who would have thought when we held our first Wantage and District Business Breakfast Club meeting in February 2001, that 10 years on we would still meeting, and going from strength to strength.
Last month we celebrated our 10th Anniversary at Williams Formula 1 Conference Centre, Grove when a record breaking number of 116 members and guests sat down for excellent breakfast and entertainment! We were indeed privileged to have Wesley Smith, TV and Radio presenter, and Gerald Dickens, great great grandson of Charles Dickens as our guest speakers. The theme was ‘Wesley Smith in audience with Gerald Dickens ‘. This was a huge success, and enjoyed by all. In fact there were so many questions to Gerald that there was not time for them all. Our special thanks to Jeanette Howse for booking these two superb entertainers!
Our four business awards were presented to the following –
-
Businessmen for the Year – Gary Hoyte of Gary Hoyte Consulting Ltd and Stewart Roper of Milagro Design Consulting
-
Businesswoman for the Year – Ann Griffiths of Vision Coaching
-
Business for the Year – Simon Ames OBE for Grove Business Centre
Reg and Colin would like to thanks all their members for their support over 10 years, and hope that they have been able to generate new business from new and existing contacts. The Breakfast Club has gone from strength to strength, and who knows what the next 10 years will bring!! Watch this space for some forthcoming changes including a much improved website!
We could not let this event go by without sincerely thanking all members and other organisations for so generously donating 16 gifts for our free draw – very much appreciated. Congratulations to all the winners, and particularly to Jackie Fitzgerald who is now looking forward to that special weekend break for 2 people at the delightful Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel.
And just to remind members, renewal subscriptions for 2011 are now overdue. Please send us details of your business which enable us to update our records …. A further e-mail is on its way to you.
Finally, we look forward to seeing so many of you at next week’s 120th breakfast meeting at Richmond Letcombe Regis on Wednesday, 20th April commencing at 8.00 a.m. when we shall be welcoming our special guest Oliver O’Dell to amuse, intrigue and promote your local community and its businesses.
With kind regards
Reg and Colin
