February 2011

For our first meeting in 2011 we returned to Lains Barn when 45 members attended to hear our member, Helmut Gross, Director of Meisterstueck Hans UK, give an excellent presentation including a 10 minute film entitled “House Building – the Road to Zero Carbon”. Helmut has been involved in the construction of Eco Houses in the UK with the film centred on a new dwelling in Abingdon.

It is now 10 years since this Breakfast Club was formed and our special 10th Anniversary is being celebrated in Williams F1 Conference Centre, Although this was originally planned for 16th February it has been necessary to move it to 16th March – our sincere apologies to those of you who had indelibly marked it in your diaries but hope the new date will be just as convenient to you. This will be an open meeting so please tell your friends and colleagues. Photographs will be taken of the presentation of their award. The cost for the Anniversary meeting will be £20 per head for members and £22.50 for non-members.

As in past years we shall see several members receiving Awards subject of course to you nominating them! There will be at least 3 Awards – Businessman, Businesswoman and Business firm for 2011. Do please let us have your nominations for these Awards to members for their achievements and for what you consider they have done to promote the Breakfast Club during the past year.

Our Anniversary FREE Draw has proved popular in recent years. Will members who wish to donate a prize for this FREE Draw please e-mail details to Reg well before our Anniversary Breakfast so a full list of acknowledgements may be prepared in advance.

Each donor, if attending, will be requested to present his/her prize to the lucky winner.

We look forward to receiving your booking form for next week’s meeting by no later than noon on Tuesday, 15th February.

Booking forms for our 10th Anniversary meeting will be distributed next week.

With kind regards

Reg and Colin
